Every moka pot eventually needs a new seal. The rubber gasket compresses a little more each time it's used, and once it's worn the pot leaks steam instead of pushing coffee through. This is the official Bialetti replacement kit sized for the 2-cup Moka Express, so the fit is exact, no trimming or guessing.
Unscrew the pot and lift out the old filter plate and gasket from the funnel. Fit a new gasket around the rim of the filter plate and set it back into the funnel. Reassemble and brew as usual. Swap the gasket every few months of regular use, sooner if you notice steam escaping from the sides instead of coffee coming up through the spout.
It's not glamorous, but a cheap gasket is a lot cheaper than a new moka pot, and it takes about thirty seconds to swap.
